Did you know Dr. Steven Kotsokalis is a born and raised Charlottean? He's also a family man, adventure seeker, and natural foodie! With this in mind, below are 5 questions to get to know Dr. Steven Kotsokalis.
Growing up, I had no idea I was suffering from poor vision until my first eye exam when I was 11 years old. Getting my first pair of glasses and contact lenses was truly life-changing. After picking up my first pair of glasses, I remember my dad telling me to hurry and get in the car because he was late to work. Meanwhile, I was staring at the leaves on the trees.
Going through high school and college I knew I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. In college, I shadowed a few optometrists in Raleigh and was involved with the pre-optometry club. I wanted to become an optometrist to hopefully help someone else have the life-changing experience of having a clear vision like I did.
Being that I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC I knew I wanted to come back home and practice in the area. Both my wife and I have family in North Carolina. The fact that North Carolina has a broad scope of practice for optometrists also made the decision an easy one.
I love helping people maximize their vision and hearing them say "Wow", whether it's after their first pair of glasses or new contact lenses. I also enjoy building relationships with patients and getting to know them and their families.
Both offices have residency trained doctors who can likely handle all of your eye care needs. Being open 7 days a week is also a plus for patients and their busy schedules!
I love spending time with my big Greek family, friends, beautiful wife, and my German shepherd! My wife and I love trying out Charlotte's newest restaurants and breweries. I also enjoy hiking and working out which helps clear my head.
