5 Questions To Get To Know Dr. Rachael Wruble

Updated: May 12, 2021

Did you know that Dr. Rachael Wruble played college golf, is a die-hard Michigan Wolverine fan, and loves boating with her husband and two daughters? She's also very involved in the local community and is the co-owner of Northlake Eye and Belmont Eye! With this in mind, below are 5 questions to get to know Dr. Rachael Wruble.

1) Why did you become an optometrist?

Honestly, I originally went to college for professional golf management. While attending Ferris State University for undergrad, I was also a collegiate golfer.

As luck would have it, my assistant golf coach was also a professor at the optometry school. He strongly encouraged me to apply and I must say it was the BEST DECISION EVER!

2) What inspired you to practice in North Charlotte?

During my sophomore year in college, I had a golf tournament in Tega Cay, SC. I absolutely loved the area and told my coach and parents that I was moving to the Carolina's as soon as I finished college.

During optometry school, I matched at the W.G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center residency program in Salisbury, NC for ocular disease and specialty contact lenses.

After residency, I became an official resident of North Carolina (however, I'm still a die-hard Michigan Wolverine)!

3) What is your favorite thing about being an eye doctor?

I love meeting and speaking with patients every day. Every person has a unique set of eyes and I want to be able to help everyone see!

4) What do you feel makes Northlake Eye different?

WE LISTEN AND WE CARE! Our team is specially trained to handle all of your eye care needs. :)

5) What do you like to do when you're not seeing patients?

I love spending time with my husband, Brad, and two beautiful girls, Lucy and Lily! We love to be on the lake or traveling to new places.
