Did you know that Dr. Apryl Fincher grew up in the South and loves being outside, kickboxing, reading, and spending time with her husband? With this in mind, below are 5 questions to get to know Dr. Apryl Fincher.
1) Why did you become an optometrist?
I actually started out my undergraduate career studying interior design! But it was not meant to be, and I switched my major to marketing.
While I was finishing my degree, I got a job working for an optometrist who encouraged me to consider optometry school. I began shadowing other optometrists and taking the science classes required to apply for optometry school, and everything fell into place! When I saw what a positive impact an eye exam can have on someone’s life, I fell in love with eye care!
2) What inspired you to practice in North Charlotte?
After having lived in Texas, Tennessee, and Florida, I was ready for another adventure!
I love being outdoors, and North Carolina has so much to offer - beautiful mountains and beaches, and lots of things to do in between. After visiting Charlotte, I loved it so much that I decided to make it my new home.
3) What is your favorite thing about being an eye doctor?
I love that optometry allows me to help patients with not only their vision but also their eye health and eye comfort.
I enjoy getting to meet and connect with new people, and if I can make someone’s day, that always makes my day!
4) What do you feel makes Northlake Eye different?
I love that Northlake Eye utilizes the latest technology that helps us give our patients an amazing eye care experience!
5) What do you like to do when you're not seeing patients?
I like to try new things, whether it is traveling, a different hobby, or a new recipe!
I especially enjoy being outside, kickboxing, reading, and spending time with my husband, Ben. We also have a parrot named Mango, who is always the center of attention!
