Dr. Kampe was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina and is a graduate of T.C. Roberson High school. She graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelors degree in Biology and received her Doctorate of Optometry from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry, now part of Salus University, in Philadelphia.

Dr. Kampe has been married to her husband, Barry since 1997 and they have two almost grown children. The family enjoys spending time in Hilton Head whenever possible. Dr. Kampe also enjoys reading, cooking and hanging out with her rescue cats and dogs.

Dr. Kampe has been working as an optometrist in the Asheville and Hendersonville areas since 2000. She loves to see the patients she has had year after year, but is also welcoming new patients.
