10 Outstanding Benefits of a Clarifye Eye Exam
Updated: May 12, 2021
Clarifye is a new and improved digital eye exam! As doctors that practice next to LensCrafters, we're fortunate enough to provide you with this incredible technology and eye care experience. But, exactly how does Clarifye benefit you, the patient?
In this article, I'm going to review what you need to know before getting a Clarifye eye exam. This includes the cost and benefits to you as a patient. Below are 10 benefits of getting a Clarifye eye exam!
1) Clarifye reduces the guessing work behind "which is better, 1 or 2?"
Do you have anxiety before getting an eye exam? Have you ever worried that a single wrong answer during the "which is better, 1 or 2?" process will lead to an inaccurate prescription? If so, you're not alone!
Fortunately for you, Clarifye is different! The system is designed to pick the best starting point based on advanced measurements of your eye. This significantly reduces the guessing work behind the refraction (i.e. the "which is better, 1 or 2?" process) and improves the accuracy of your prescription.

2) Clarifye provides us with superior precision and accuracy
Why? It provides us with much more information than a traditional eye exam workup. In particular, Clarifye utilizes wavefront technology to identify higher-order aberrations (HOA) and has a built-in corneal topographer that allows us to see the exact curvature of the front of your eye.
As a result, we can streamline your refraction, providing us with more time to chat about your eyes!
3) Clarify is kid-friendly
First and foremost, we LOVE seeing kids! They're full of energy and life, plus we know how exciting it is to get your first pair of glasses.
With this in mind, Clarifye is designed to help guide us through pediatric eye exams. Especially when fear, excitement, or a sudden burst of shyness inhibits our ability to elicit accurate feedback.
Clarifye also provides you with a side-by-side comparison of how your child sees (how cool)!

4) Clarifye maps the "digital fingerprint" of your eye
Clarifye automatically provides us with a corneal topographer measurement. This is essentially a digital fingerprint of the front of your eye!
As a result, we can better diagnose corneal disorders, such as keratoconus. It also helps us determine if you're a good candidate for LASIK.
5) Clarifye improves contact lens evaluations
Since contacts sit on the front of your eye, the digital footprint Clarifye provides improves our ability to evaluate you for contact lens wear. This includes determining the right power, shape, and size for your eye.
This is one of the many reasons why we pride ourselves on the ability to fit and evaluate all motivated patients with contact lenses, including scleral lenses!

6) Clarifye takes into account DAY and NIGHT vision
Have you ever notice your vision changes from day to night? Truth be told, the size of your pupil gets larger in dark environments. This can lead to blurry night vision if not assessed appropriately.
Fortunately for you, Clarifye provides us with day and night vision measurements. It also allows us to simulate what your vision would look like during the daytime and at nighttime. This can significantly help decrease any glare, starbursts, and halos effects you experience at night.

7) Clarifye is 100% digital
Clarifye measurements are taken with state-of-the-art equipment and performed in 60 seconds or less.
Once complete, these measurements are synced to your personal profile. From there, your refraction is performed using an iPad and stored for access over time.
At the end of your exam, your optometrist can easily generate custom glasses and contact lens prescriptions within seconds!

8) Clarifye has built-in patient educational tools
As a HUGE advocate of patient education, I love this feature! It allows us to educate you on frequently asked questions, vision conditions, eye diseases, glasses options, and more.

9) Clarifye reduces the time it takes to get an eye exam
We live in a crazy, busy world! As a result, we know your time is important.
With Clarifye, we now have more time to answer any questions you may have as well as catch up on what's new in life.
10) Clarifye compares your old and new prescriptions
After we determine your new glasses prescription, we're able to instantaneously show you your old prescription for comparison purposes.
Therefore, you'll have the ability to experience the change in your prescription BEFORE purchasing new glasses!

How much does a Clarifye eye exam cost?
Honestly, this depends on a lot of factors. For example, did you know Clarify eye exams can cost as little as zero dollars with certain insurances?
If you don't have insurance, a Clarifye eye exam at our office is $128. This includes a complete eye health and vision evaluation, optomap digital retinal imaging, and a glasses prescription.

Is a Clarifye eye exam right for you?
Absolutely! If you haven't already, I highly encourage you to schedule an appointment to SEE and experience Clarifye for yourself! :)
